Delivering Change Vision, Mission, and Purpose
In 2011, alarming statistics emerged about the health of babies born to mothers in Geary County. In response, the Geary County Perinatal Coalition was established to closely examine the factors contributing to these concerning outcomes.
From this effort, the Delivering Change: Healthy Families–Healthy Communities initiative was born. This comprehensive program uses a Four-Pronged Approach to enhance community health and well-being. Its key goals are to:
- Improve the health of women throughout their childbearing years, including during pregnancy
- Promote and support breastfeeding
- Improve the health and development of infants and children
- Engage, educate, and empower fathers to take an active role in family wellness
Our Specialized Approach
This impactful initiative was launched in response to a growing need to improve the health of women of childbearing age and to achieve better outcomes for babies born in our community.
Delivering Change brings together a community-wide collaboration focused on expanding access to the tools, resources, and support systems essential for improving maternal health and reducing infant morbidity and mortality.
At its heart, Delivering Change is about building a healthier future—creating an environment where moms, babies, and families can thrive—right here in Geary County.
